June 2010
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat again. Just enjoyed an amazing dinner at Emeril’s. Escargot and a perfectly ratioed dirty Kettle One martini followed by andouille crusted redfish topped with me polishing off the best piece of banana cream pie I’ve ever had the pleasure of indulging.
Packing is so easy when everything you own is the same color palatte and pretty much from the same store. Off to New Orleans I go!

Elaine was not amused by Gary’s passive-aggressive response to her request to “garnish the cocktails.”
I’ve been watching Skins lately. Those British kids sure like their wobbles.
Dear Aussie dude,
You were pretty cute, and your pick-up was spot on. Asking “Excuse me, why do all the license plates here say ‘taxation without representation’?” is a great convo starter. And you even stopped me with no makeup on and in gym clothes. If I weren’t madly in love and positive there is nothing better than what I have, I definitely would have joined you...
I have 60 hours of annual leave I must use or lose.
This is from a review of one of the campgrounds in Shenandoah I’m looking at for Labor Day weekend.
“So, if you don’t mind extremes of weather, a little dirt, and waiting to use the bathroom/shower, then you’ll be fine. Also, if you are into wildlife, photography, and hiking, it’s a good choice. Just prepare for the cold nights, rain, and bring extra clothing....
Woo hoo! Good thing my nails grow pretty quickly. I already have half a nail back on that finger I smashed in April.
I had a great weekend:
1. Finished my most boring class, met professor for next class where the final project will be a 4-6 minute documentary. 2. Had a great time with the love’s family. I feel completely part of it and I love it. They are very fun and his mom makes the best desserts ever. And she wants my cell phone number:) 3. Spent all day Sunday in a friend’s family’s pool, followed by the family...

Sorry dudes, you acted disgracefully and there are no excuses. Don’t try to blame the reporter for your stupidity.

“Plain sex is so boring. Get all dressed up [for him]. Roleplay is the ultimate. Everyone’s into this threesome thing, but there’s no way there’s going to be another woman with my man because I’ma beat you and drag you. So ladies play different women so you can keep your man excited. Try different wigs [or] dress up like a maid. I love fishnets and having sex in heels. Guys always go to...
Weekend Agenda:
Friday: Complete take home exam for stupid Media Law
Saturday: LAST MEDIA LAW CLASS! Take final and head over to the “in-laws” after class to celebrate a birthday, spend the night there.
Sunday: Big breakfast with the “in-laws” followed by some pool time with friends.

I think I have a hiking plan. Two days in Cusco (heard it’s necessary to take some time to get acclimated to the altitude), then head out and stay maybe two days here. Explore the area, then set out for the 1 day 1 night hike option up to Machu Pichu. Come down from Machu Pichu and spend a night and day in Aguas Calientes. Then train back to Cusco, get to Lima and spend a day/night there...

I’m pretty stoked to check them out at Maple Leaf Bar down in New Orleans on Tuesday! I hear it will be worth the sleepy eyes the next day.
I need to start training for Peru! We haven’t decided if we are going to do the 4 day hike and camping up to Machu Pichu, or just get one of the package trips where you take the train. To start, I’m going to start hiking the 7 flights of stairs to my office everyday. And we’re thinking about a camping trip of Labor Day weekend, so that should indicate if I’m even capable of...
Things I don't really like:
1. People commenting on weight loss. It’s flattering at first, but gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. 2. Tattoos of cameras. Seriously people, I have yet to see a good one. 3. Muggy apartments. 4. A finger without a fingernail. 5. “When’s the wedding?” 6. Asian dishes that have baby corn and/or water chestnuts. 7. DC taxi drivers. Why do they all seem to just cruise...
New things in my life:
1. New MacBook Pro for work complete with Photoshop and FinalCut. Yay! 2. Video and audio toys. 3. Night guard to keep my teeth from grindin
How do people afford to get married? Do parents seriously set up funds just for their daughter’s wedding? How do guys save thousands of dollars for a diamond ring? Why drop tens of thousands of dollars on flowers and dresses and cakes?
I would so much rather have a dreamworthy trip and down payment for a home.
I love LivingSocial!
Just booked our twilight kayak tour for July! And because I got a group of us going, I get two tours for only $12! SOOO EXCITED!!!
My hotel in New Orleans is pretty close to Mother’s. God I’m going to get fat. Good thing I have a mile walk in the heat to the convention center and a mile back each day.

Feel good story of the night. Love the headline.
I’m heading to New Orleans next week and only have one night where I’m guaranteed to have time for a really good dinner. What is the one restaurant I absolutely have to try while down there?
Weekend Review:
Friday - Scrumptious dinner of Chilean Sea Bass w/avocado salsa and black bean quinoa salad followed by a wonderful wine tasting cruise along the Potomac. Perfect loved-up date.
Saturday - Got dinner to go from Morso in Georgetown and ate it down on the water. Their lamb wrap is phenomenal. Follwed up with cocktails at Sequoia, Karate Kid and a nice stroll across the Key Bridge.
Sunday - Gained...

Here are some very brief impressions of Nepal.
Nepal is essentially a strip of mountainous land squeezed between China and India. There is no distinctive Nepali look and you can find all sorts of ethnicities in Kathmandu. Most people think of Tibet and Buddhism when they think of Nepal but that…
Great travel post friend. I’m glad you’re keeping a blog to share these...
Why I'm excited today:
1. Gonna be sippin wine and eatin cheese on a yacht on the Potomac tomorrow night. 2. NO PLANS ON SATURDAY NIGHT! For once I don’t have to rush outta class. My man and I are either gonna go to an art opening or go see Karate Kid (our first movie date together). Really looking forward to a low-key Saturday night. 3. Brunch with the family on Sunday to celebrate Father’s Day and...
